ELMSDALE, P.E.I. — Heidi Thibodeau has quickly established herself as a force to be reckoned with on the basketball court for the Westisle Wolverines.
The Grade 10 point guard is in her first season in the P.E.I. School Athletic Association Senior Girls Basketball League.
The 15-year-old daughter of Edward and Lynn Thibodeau of Tignish has been selected as Westisle Composite High School’s Greco Pizza/Capt. Sub student-athlete of the month.
“Heidi is a very hard-working and dedicated player, who has quickly become a leader on her team,” said Westisle coach Dana Gard, who described Heidi as a fast learner who can implement any direction given to her almost immediately. “She is fast with a keen eye for game situations.”
Heidi also hopes to play rugby in the spring as she plans to try out for Westisle’s senior girls’ team.
Heidi’s future plans include university, but she has not yet narrowed down her field of study.
