ELMSDALE – Grade 11 student Hayden Chaisson has been presented with the Greco Pizza/Capt. Sub student-athlete-of-the-month award for Westisle Composite High School.

The daughter of Heidi and Joey Chaisson of Palmer Road scored 10 of her team’s 13 goals in three games during a high school soccer tournament in Moncton, N.B. Westisle soccer coach Brian Allain describes Hayden as a very skilled player, who has the ability to score from anywhere on the field.
“She’s our main weapon up front, for sure,” Allain says of Hayden, who alternates between striker and midfield.
Hayden, who has played provincial soccer since Grade 7, was the leading scorer on two West Prince club teams this year, helping the under-18 and senior women’s teams to First Division provincial titles. This was her second year on the Westisle senior girls’ soccer team.
She also played basketball and competed in track and field in Grade 10, and plans to do so again this season.
Hayden is considering studying kinesiology at either UPEI or UNB following graduation from high school.
