SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Summerside native Bennett MacArthur is making the jump to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
The Acadie-Bathurst Titan announced in a media release on Saturday that the 18-year-old forward has been recalled from the Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals for the remainder of the 2019-20 season.
Capitals’ first-year defenceman and Summerside native Ed McNeill has been recalled by the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada and he finished with a plus-1 rating and had one shot on net in Saturday’s 7-2 road win over the Quebec Remparts. McNeill previously played major midget hockey with the Charlottetown Pride (now Knights).

Strong start
MacArthur, who graduated from the Kensington Wild major midget program last year, was off to a strong start in his rookie campaign with the Caps in the Maritime Junior Hockey League. He leads all rookies in scoring with 21 goals and 20 assists for 41 points in 30 regular-season games.
MacArthur is also eighth in the league scoring race and third in team scoring with the Caps, trailing only Brodie MacArthur (30-29—59) and Kallum Muirhead (23-35—58).
MacArthur was in the Titan’s lineup for Saturday’s 5-2 home-ice win over the Saint John Sea Dogs. He went into Sunday’s road game versus the Charlottetown Islanders with one goal in three regular-season games with the Titan.
