SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals forward Kallum Muirhead has earned a national honour

The 20-year-old Charlottetown native was announced as the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s second star of the month for November on Friday.
Muirhead was selected the Maritime Junior Hockey League’s (MHL) first star of the month for November after recording a league-high 26 points on nine goals and a league-best 17 assists.
Muirhead was held off the scoresheet just once in November and all but two games were multi-point efforts. He registered eight multi-point performances in the month and he has 18 in total so far this season.
Muirhead is currently playing at nearly a two-point-per-game pace for the Capitals. He has 58 points in 30 outings on 23 tallies and 35 assists. His assist totals lead all MHL skaters and he sits second in overall league scoring. A veteran of 152 MHL regular-season contests, Muirhead has accumulated 204 points in his junior A career – 100 goals and 104 assists.
The Capitals, who sit atop the MHL’s overall standings at 24-5-1 (won-lost-overtime losses), return to action on New Year’s Eve. The Fredericton Caps (17-11-2) will provide the opposition at Eastlink Arena in a 5 p.m. start.
