SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Visitor precautions have been put in place at Summerset Manor in Summerside due to the presence of gastro-intestinal illness.

Meanwhile, precautions have been lifted at Summerside’s Wedgewood Manor and at Beach Grove Home in Charlottetown. Both of which had previously seen restrictions due to gastro-intestinal illness.

Health P.E.I. asks everyone going into long-term care facilities and hospitals clean their hands before and after entering a patient’s room, a department, and upon entering and leaving the facility. Alcohol hand rinse stations are available throughout health care facilities for this purpose.

The situation will be reassessed as more information becomes available and a further update will be provided.
