Charlottetown voters continue to turn out to advance polls

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - When it comes to the municipal election, Charlottetown continues to lead the way in terms of turnout of eligible registered voters.

Elections P.E.I. is managing the elections in the capital city, Summerside, Cornwall and Stratford. The Department of Communities is handling the rest of the province.

Following three days of voting at the returning office and two days at the advance polls, a total of 16.22 per cent of all eligible registered voters in Charlottetown have cast their ballot in the municipal election.

Summerside is next at 14.81 per cent, followed by Cornwall at 14.63 per cent and Stratford at 13.06 per cent. Those numbers are up to the conclusion of voting on Monday.

The next day of voting will be on Thursday when students at Holland College in Charlottetown and Summerside and at UPEI can vote on campus.

Advance polls also continue on Friday in Charlottetown, Summerside, Cornwall and Stratford.

Election day goes on Monday, Nov. 5.
