ABRAM-VILLAGE – The Mid-Isle Matrix of the P.E.I. Major Bantam AAA Hockey League outlasted the Kennebecasis Valley Kings 7-5 on Sunday to finish the weekend .500.
The Matrix lost 4-0 to Saint John in the first of two interlocking games played with the New Brunswick Major Bantam AAA Hockey League at the Evangeline Recreation Centre.
Mid-Isle is 4-22-0 (won-lost-tied).

Landon Hardy (2), Carson MacKay (1-2), Matthew Mills (1-1), Reese Wyand, Harrison James and Angus Beaton scored for the Matrix. Spencer Toole (3) and Kyle Mason (2) had multiple-assist efforts.
Carter McCluskey (1-2), Ayden Arsenault (1-1), Mike McQuaid (1-1), Marcus Gray and Charlie Jackson answered for the Kings.
The score was tied 1-1 after the first period, and the Matrix took a 4-3 advantage into the second intermission.
Winning goaltender was Josh Smith.

Hunter Valcour Leblanc earned the shutout while Noah Webster (1-1), Ethan Johnson, Owen Thompson and Matthew Weaver found the back of the net for Saint John, which broke open a scoreless game with three unanswered second-period goals.
Ty Arsenault tended goal for Mid-Isle.
