CINDY'S SNAPSHOT: A mackerel sky over Nova Scotia

Our ancestors believed that there were many signs of changing weather all around us.  This is what the late afternoon sky looked like over Heatherton NS last Tuesday. 
Kevin MacDonald snapped the photo but I wonder if he knew it was a mackerel sky?  Grandma Says: “mackerel sky, mackerel sky, never long wet, never long dry.”
