There's still lots of colour on the trees, but it's hard to beat this vibrant sunflower in Rita and Terry Murphy's garden in Northside Eastbay, Cape Breton N.S. The lovely blue sky and Canada flag fluttering in the breeze make for a perfect backdrop.

The 2024 theme aims to bring attention to the serious issue of plastic pollution and how it harms nature. Here on Saturday, April 20, 2024, City of St. John’s parks service worker Chris Hoddinott enjoys the sunshine and mild spring temperatures while he was weeding out and edging this flower bed following the past winter.
