Heat Wave Winds Down

The wind is slowly coming around to the northwest behind a frontal trough that's sweeping the region. The northern tip of the trough reaches out to a low over the Labrador Sea. Showers and isolated thundershowers will continue over northern Newfoundland and Labrador. In the wake of the muggy air mass, Friday is going to be fabulous. The weekend weather… has shifted a little.

  • WIND: Light increasing to NE 10 to 15 knots in the morning and to NE 15 to 20 knots near noon. Wind diminishing to NE 10 to 15 knots in the evening

NORTHUMBERLAND STRAIT - WESTERN HALF: 

  • WIND: Light increasing to N 10 to 15 knots in the morning and to NE 15 to 20 knots in the afternoon

NORTHUMBERLAND STRAIT - EASTERN HALF: 

  • WIND: Light increasing to N 10 to 15 knots in the morning and to NE 15 to 20 knots in the afternoon

GULF – MAGDALEN: STRONG WIND WARNING

  • WIND: Variable 10 to 15 knots becoming N 15 knots in the morning. Wind increasing to NE 20 to 25 knots in the afternoon
  • WAVES: 1 metre or less building to 1 to 2 metres in the afternoon
