CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Katie Wood and Antonio Kostakos are Holland College’s athletes of the week.
Wood, a five-foot-eight libero from Regina in her first season with the Hurricanes, recorded 13 digs and two kills in Saturday’s four-set victory over the Dal AC Rams.
Holland College (4-2) is tied for third in the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) standings.
Kostakos, a six-foot-one guard from Halifax in his third year of eligibility, scored 24 points off the bench in Saturday’s 119-43 victory over the Rams at home. The sport and leisure management student also had six rebounds, four assists and two steals against the Rams.
He added 14 points, three rebounds and a steal in Sunday’s 120-65 victory over the University of King’s College Blue Devils.
The Hurricanes (6-0) lead the ACAA standings and are ranked second in the recent national standings.
