Women’s Panthers set for pre-season opener

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The UPEI Panthers women’s hockey team opens the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) pre-season Wednesday on home ice.

The Mount Allison Mounties visit MacLauchlan Arena for a 7 p.m. game. It is the first of six exhibition games for the Panthers, who are hosting the U Sports championship in 2020.

UPEI begins the regular season Friday, Oct. 4, at UNB.

The Panthers went 14-13-1 to finish fifth in the AUS season standings a year ago. They were eliminated by UNB in the first round of the playoffs, losing 3-2 in both games of the best-of-three quarter-final.
