SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — The Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals have acquired a Nova Scotia forward who was playing junior A hockey in Ontario.
The Caps picked up Tanner Tolliver from the Wellington Dukes for future considerations on Monday.
The six-foot-one, 181-pound Tolliver, who turned 18 earlier this month, played bantam with the Halifax Hawks and a season of midget with the Halifax McDonald’s. He played the past two seasons at the Ontario Hockey Academy.
He had no points and 12 penalty minutes in five games this season with the Dukes.
The Capitals are tied with the Southshore Lumberjacks for top spot in the Maritime Junior Hockey League with identical 10-3-0-0 records. Summerside travels to Miramichi, N.B., Thursday to play the Timberwolves.
