CORNWALL, P.E.I. — The Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces scored four times in the final seven minutes to beat the North River Flames 9-4 in the opening game of the Razzy’s Prince Edward Island Junior C Hockey League final.

Game 2 of the best-of-seven league championship series goes Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. in Tignish with Game 3 also in Tignish, Friday at 8 p.m.

Dawson Sellick had two goals and an assist while Tristan Cahill had a goal and two helpers in the victory Saturday at the APM Centre in Cornwall.

The Aces held 2-1 and 4-3 period leads.

Nathan Paynter scored the winner 4:35 into the third. Devon Sherren and Brandon Forsythe each had a goal and an assist while Thomas Shea, Tyson Beckingham and Brayden Arsenault also found the back of the net.

Jacob Hogan and Brayden Handrahan each chipped in a pair of assists while Oliver Smallman, Kane Arsenault and Keaton Horne had singles.

Conner Andrews and Jackson Roberts each had a goal and an assist for North River. Zac MacKay and Daniel Godfrey also scored while Tanner Hood had an assist.

Colin Gaudette made 25 saves for the victory while Jean-Luc Duguay stopped 29 shots in the loss.

Tignish went 1-for-3 on the power play while North River was 0-for-2.
