ST. CATHARINES, Ont. – It was a perfect weekend for two graduates of Three Oaks Senior High School in Summerside.
Hannah Taylor and Ligrit Sadiku both posted undefeated records in helping the Brock University wrestling teams to the women’s and men’s titles at the Guelph Open.
Taylor, a second-year sport management major, led the No. 1-ranked Brock women’s team with a record of 4-0 (won-lost). Taylor, who competed in the 59-kilogram class, won three matches by technical superiority and one by pinfall.
Taylor scored a total of 42 points while having not points scored against her in the four matches. Taylor defeated Kieva Earle of the Thunderwolves Wrestling Club 12-0, Miki Rowbottom of the University of Regina 10-0, Vivian Mark of the Calgary Dinos 10-0 and Karly Kudrinko of Queens University 10-0.

Sadiku had a first-place showing in the men’s 57-kilogram class that featured an eight-man bracket draw.
Sadiku had a 10-9 technical fall win over Shevonne Witter-Watts of York University in the quarter-finals, and pulled out a 6-5 decision over Melvin Arciaga of the University of Alberta in the semifinals. In the final, Sadiku defeated Sam Jagas of Brock University 4-2.
