O’LEARY – Medals were awarded in two categories following the completion of the Skate P.E.I. Friendship synchronized skating competition in O’Leary on Sunday.
A total of 14 teams –nine from P.E.I., and five from Nova Scotia – participated in the competition.
A large crowd was in attendance to cheer on the teams.

Medals were awarded in the Elementary Division, which had the most entries – four – and the Pre-Novice Division, which had two entries
The O’Leary Mystic Moves won the Elementary Division, followed by Alberton Ice Pixies and Summerside Silhouettes.  

 

The Summerside Silhouettes placed third in the Elementary Division of Sunday’s Friendship synchronized skating competition.
 

 

There were two entries in the Pre-Novice Division, with the Evangeline Ice Crystals taking first and the Charlottetown Rockettes finishing second
The only other division with multiple entries – three – was Beginner I.
Beginner I, Beginner II and juvenile teams all skated to standard and were presented with an overall assessment by the judges, but their routines were not ranked.
Similarly, there were no marks given to the novice, open and adult teams who performed exhibition skates.
In all, approximately 170 skaters participated.

 

Charlottetown Rockettes perform in the Pre-Novice Division of Sunday’s Friendship synchronized skating completion in O’Leary. A total of 14 teams from Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia participated.
