Green squad finishes with four straight wins

Summerside Green team won the girls’ under-11 championship at the Winsloe/Charlottetown Royals soccer tournament last weekend. Summerside defeated Stratford 4-1 in the final. SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Summerside Green team overcame an opening-game loss to win the girls’ under-11 crown at the recent Winsloe/Charlottetown Royals soccer tournament

After losing 1-0 to Stratford, Summerside defeated the Eastern Eagles 2-0, Winsloe Argentina twice – 2-1 and 3-2 – and Stratford 4-1 in the championship game.
Lauren Simmons scored twice while Nina Kenny and Gwen Arsenault added singles to account for Summerside’s scoring in the title match.
Simmons and Amie Simpson scored while Abby Gallant recorded the shutout against the Eagles.
Simmons scored both goals in Summerside’s 2-1 win against Winsloe Argentina. Simmons (2) and Kayla Thomas had Summerside’s tallies versus Winsloe Argentina.
