SUMMERSIDE – The focus now shifts to playoff football at Eric Johnston Field.
The Summerside Waterwise Spartans and Cooke Insurance Clippers will host semifinal games on Friday.
The Spartans, who completed the regular season in first place at 6-0 (won-lost), will meet the Cornwall Timberwolves in a 6 p.m. start to decide one of two teams in the Ed Hilton Bowl – the championship game of the P.E.I. Bantam Tackle Football League. The other semifinal will feature the Charlottetown Privateers hosting the Kings County Steelers.

Immediately following the Spartans and Timberwolves’ game, the Summerside Cooke Insurance Clippers (6-0) will take on the Souris Wildcats in a P.E.I. Varsity Tackle Football League semifinal at 8 p.m. The Cornwall Timberwolves will entertain the Charlottetown Privateers in the other semifinal. The two semifinal winners will then meet for the Potato Bowl.
The bowl games will also be played at Eric Johnston Field on Saturday, Nov. 2. The bantam final will start at noon, followed by the varsity title match at 2:30 p.m.
