CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Goalies and special teams took centre stage in the Sherwood Metros 2-1 win over the Southside MacDonald’s Construction EF MacPhee Lynx in Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League action Monday at Cody Banks Arena.

Sherwood’s Blake Arsenault stopped 28-of-29 shots in the win, while Southside’s Sean MacPhee kicked aside 36-of-38 shots in the loss.

Sherwood upped its league-leading record to 13-1. Third-place Southside dropped to 7-6.

Owen Arsenault netted the eventual game-winning goal with 1:47 left in the third period after Southside’s Riley Pyne netted the game-tying goal on a shorthanded chance midway through the third. Jake Arsenault had a power-play goal in the second frame for a 1-0 Metros edge after a scoreless first.

Sherwood went 1-for-7 on the power play, while Southside was 0-for-2 with the extra man.
