CHARLOTTETOWN – Two cross-country runners from Prince County have been named the Holland Hurricanes’ athletes of the week.

 

Haley Shea, a second-year runner for the Hurricanes from Tignish, finished as the third individual in last weekend’s Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) cross-country running meet in Halifax, N.S., hosted by the Mount Saint Vincent University Mystics.

Shea is known as a leader for the team, helping throughout the season in various roles.
Shea is enrolled in the human services program.
Ryan Francom, in his first year as a Hurricanes’ student-athlete, had a solid fourth-place finish at the men’s individual cross-country running meet on Saturday in Halifax. He led the Hurricanes to a second-place team finish in the competition.
Francom is from Summerside, and is in the Holland College commercial diving program.
The Holland Hurricanes will host the ACAA cross-country running championships at the Mark Arendz Provincial Ski Park at Brookvale on Oct. 27.
