KONIGSSEE, Germany – Pilot Alysia Rissling of Edmonton and brakewoman Heather Moyse of Summerside had a fifth-place finish in the final event of the World Cup bobsleigh season on Saturday.
Rissling and Moyse were fourth after the opening heat, but dropped one spot after their final trip down the 1,251-metre track. They finished with a time of 1:41.98.
It was the second straight top-five finish for Rissling and Moyse, who were fourth last week in securing one of three Canadian sleds for the upcoming 2018 Winter Olympics.
Pilot Kaillie Humphries won her fourth career World Cup title after teaming with Phylicia George to win a silver medal in Konigssee, Germany.
Moyse and Humphries won back-to-back gold medals at the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics.
