SYDNEY — A Cape Breton hockey player has been recognized by the Elite Ice Hockey League for his performance during the 2019-20 season.
Joey Haddad of Sydney was recently named to the league’s first all-star team after receiving 8.56 per cent of fan nominations.
The 31-year-old forward appeared in 46 games with the Cardiff Devils last season, notching 29 goals and 57 points, along with 30 penalty minutes and a +11 rating.
Prior to taking his talents overseas, Haddad played four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League between the P.E.I. Rocket and Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.
