For only the second time this season, stock car racing will be on offer at Sydney Speedway this weekend.
Racing is set to take place at the Sydney-Glace Bay Highway facility on Sunday, beginning at 1 p.m.
The schedule includes races in the Bandoleros (twin 12s), Legends (twin 25s), Mini Stocks (twin 25s), Sportsman (35-50 laps, depending on car count) and Street Stock (35-50 laps, depending on car count) divisions.
For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, Sydney Speedway staff is working to have the grandstands open, all while following the provincial guidelines to limit the spread of COVID-19. The pit side will be limited to 250 crew members and fans.
Fan passes will be available on a first come, first serve basis on race day. Audio and video will be carried by Tim's Corner Motorsports for fans unable to attend.
Pit gates open at 9 a.m. with practice slated for 10 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. Racing will follow the drivers meeting set for 12:30 p.m.
Sydney Speedway is also preparing to host its annual Thanksgiving Thunder Weekend, Oct. 9-11. More information is expected shortly, however, as of now, racing is set for Oct. 10 and Oct. 11. Both events are scheduled for 2 p.m. starts with limited fans in attendance.
