The RMM Gonzaga Vikings tied up the St. John’s Molson Senior Baseball League final at a game apiece over the weekend with a 5-3 win over the OMT Shamrocks.
The best-of-five final is knotted 1-1 heading into today’s Game 3 6:30 p.m. St. Pat’s Ball Park.
Saturday at St. Pat’s, veteran Viking Mike O’Neil was the offensive catalyst for Gonzaga with a two-for-two performance at the plate, driving in three runs and scoring another.
Andrew Paul was also two-for-two, and scored three runs. Matt Parsons had two hits as well for the Vikings.
Borth starting pitchers went the distance as Ben Kennedy (7.0IP, 5H, 3R, 0ER, 3BB, 7K, 2HBP) recorded the win over Scott Goosney (6.0IP, 9H, 5R, 3ER, 2BB, 2K).
Shamrocks, the four-time defending league champs, opened the series last Monday night with a 5-4 win.
