ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — What will very likely be a preview of next month’s provincial women’s soccer final is scheduled for tonight at King George V Park in St. John's.

Holy Cross and Feildians will tangle in a Breen’s Jubilee Trophy game at 9 p.m. Those teams hold down first and second place in the standings, with only two points separating them, and it's already known that they will meet in the Page Playoff 1-2 game Oct. 8.

Both teams have only one loss this season, against each other. Holy Cross (9-1-2) is in first, just af=head of Feildians (8-1-3). Since a season-opening loss to the Crusaders, the Double Blues are unbeaten in their last 11 games, while Holy Cross has a five-game undefeated streak intact.

On playoff weekend, beginning Oct. 8 at King George V, the third- and fourth-place teams— Strikers and SJSC — will meet following the 1-2 game.

The winner of the 1-2 game goes directly to the final on Oct. 12. The 1-2 loser and the winner of the 3-4 game will meet Oct. 10 to determine what other side advances to the final.
