INVERNESS, N.S. — The Inverness Rebels captured the Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation Highland Region Division 3 volleyball championship recently.

The Rebels defeated Centre Scolaire Étoile de L'Acadie of Sydney 25-13, 25-17 and 25-11 to win the championship.

Inverness will now play last year’s provincial champion École acadienne de Pomquet, near Antigonish in the provincial final. Pomquet earned its spot after claiming the Northumberland Region title.

The provincial championship match was scheduled for this weekend, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the NSSAF suspension until Dec. 10, it has been postponed.

As of press time, the date and time for the provincial semifinal and final were not confirmed by the NSSAF.
