SYDNEY, N.S. — A former Cape Breton Oiler player will continue his coaching career in Switzerland for the 2020-21 season.

Éric Landry recently signed as head coach of the HCB Ticino Rockets, a Swiss professional hockey team.

The 45-year-old has never coached professional hockey. He was an assistant coach with the Gatineau Olympiques of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for five years, prior to spending the past four-and-a-half years as head coach of the team.

Landry played one season with the Oilers, recording 19 goals and 52 points along with 187 penalty minutes in 74 games during the 1995-96 season.

He appeared in 68 career NHL games between the Calgary Flames and Montreal Canadiens, posting five goals and 14 points.
