SYDNEY, N.S. — Two former Cape Breton Eagles prospects were traded in separate deals in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League on Monday.

Forward Mikaël Martel, a fourth-round pick by the Eagles in 2017, was traded from the Rimouski Océanic to the Gatineau Olympiques. In exchange, the Océanic receive a fourth-round pick in 2023.

The 19-year-old Martel has appeared in 15 games with Rimouski this season, posting three goals and seven points.

Meanwhile, the Olympiques traded forward Milo Roelens, a Cape Breton third-round draft pick in 2019, to the Sherbrooke Phoenix for 16-year-old forward Xavier Labbé, a sixth-round pick in 2021 and a second-round pick in 2023.

Roelens has played 36 career games in the QMJHL, all with Gatineau, recording one goal and three points along with 16 penalty minutes and a minus-3 rating.

The QMJHL trade period will close on Monday at 1 p.m. Atlantic time.
