SYDNEY, N.S. — Cape Breton Eagles defenceman Alex Falardeau was suspended two games by the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for a hit to the head on Rimouski Océanic forward Adam Raska on Wednesday.
The rookie served the first game of his suspension on Friday when the Eagles played the Baie-Comeau Drakkar in Baie-Comeau. His final game of the suspension is Saturday when Cape Breton faces Chicoutimi.
In five games this season, Falardeau has no points, four penalty minutes and five shots, along with a plus-1 rating.
He will be eligible to return to the team's lineup on Wednesday against the Moncton Wildcats in New Brunswick.
