SYDNEY, N.S. — A Cape Breton goaltender has picked up her first career victory in the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

Julia Carroll of Albert Bridge made 23 saves for the Nichols College Bisons in a 4-1 win over Johnson and Wales University Wildcats last Tuesday at Lynch Arena in Pawtucket, R.I.

The freshman has a 1-1-1 record thus far this season and is a graduate of the MacIntyre Chevy Panthers program last season.

Carroll and the Bisons will continue their Division 3 league schedule on Friday when they play Becker College in Worcester, Mass.
