Regals, Maroons play crucial Game 3 in O'Leary on Sunday

ALBERTON, P.E.I. — The West Prince Senior Hockey League championship series is now a best-of-three.

The Alberton Regals and O’Leary Maroons enter Sunday’s crucial Game 3 tied 1-1 in the best-of-five series. Puck drop at the O’Leary Community Sports Centre is 7 p.m.

The Maroons opened the series with a 5-1 win in Game 1 on March 16, but the Regals rebounded to win Game 2 in overtime 5-4 on Wednesday night.
At the Jacques Cartier Arena, Morgan DesRoches scored the winning goal at 2:52 of overtime. Garrett Lewis (1-1), Mitch Hardy (1-1), Kenzie Horne (1-1) and Tyson McNeill also scored for the host Regals in Game 2.
Nick Reilly (2), Spencer Gallant and Connor Dyment countered for the Maroons, who trailed 3-2 after one period and 4-2 at the end of two.
Spencer Rennie earned the goaltending win over Chase Dyment.
The Regals were called for seven of the game’s 13 minor penalties.
