CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings staged a come-from-behind overtime win Wednesday night.

The Red Wings spotted the host Sherwood-Parkdale A&S Scrap Metal Metros a 3-0 lead after one period, but cut the deficit to 3-1 after 40 minutes. The Red Wings scored twice in the third period to tie the Island Junior Hockey League game, and Alex Morrissey’s second goal of the night – his 20th marker of the season – at 3:06 of overtime gave Western a 4-3 win.
Morrissey also added an assist for a three-point night. Spencer Groom (1-2), who scored a power-play goal at 13:55 of the third period to tie the game, also finished with three points. Brydon Smith netted the other goal for the first-place Red Wings, who improved to 20-3-1 (won-lost-overtime losses). Chasse Gallant (2), Isaac Knox and Silas Handrahan assisted.

For the third-place Metros (10-12-1), Barrington Duffy, Tanner Lund and Alex Hambly found the back of the net. Single helpers were credited to Dylan MacDonald, Grant Koughan, Nick Currie, Jordan Birt, Hunter Bradley and Connor Gray.
Overall, the Red Wings outshot the Metros 44-27, including 18-8 and 16-6 advantages in the first and third periods.
Bronson Banks picked up the goaltending. Liam Jay was between the pipes for the Metros.
