CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – A four-goal first period proved just the trick for the Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings 7-3 win over the A&S Scrap Metal Metros Wednesday in Island Junior Hockey League action at Cody Banks Arena.

Tristan Cahill (2), Austin Taylor and Silas Handrahan did the honours in the decisive frame, while Isaac Knox, Chandler Wood and Evan Millman tallied the other Red Wings markers during the next two periods.

Handrahan and Connor Morrissey each chipped in three assists. Chasse Gallant tallied helpers on the Handrahan and Millman goals.

Barrington Duffy, Jacob Stewart and Drew Bowman netted the Metros scores.

Luke Oliver earned the win over Liam Jay.

Western outshot the Metros 46-30, including 23-14 in the first, and was 3-for-6 on the power play. The Metros went 0-for-3 with the extra man.

The Red Wings led 4-2 after the first period and 5-2 at the second intermission.
