CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - It was a rough weekend for the UPEI Panthers mens and women’s soccer teams as the squads went a combined 1-2-1 in Atlantic University Sports action.

The women (2-4-2) got the lone win in a 4-1 victory over Moncton on Friday, Madison Hurley scored twice while Tyffanie Bordage and Jennifer Balderston added singles, then tied UNB 0-0 on Sunday.

Rebecca Duda (UNB) and Amanda Stanyer earned the shutouts.

On the men’s side, the offence continues to struggle as the Panthers (1-5-2) were shut out 2-0 by Moncton on Friday and thumped 5-1 by UNB on Sunday.

Mohammad Jaber netted the Panthers marker.

Both teams return to the pitch Sunday, Oct. 14, versus St. FX. Game times are 2 p.m. for the women and 4:15 p.m. for the men.
