The Holland College Hurricanes women’s volleyball team signed the multi-talented Kali Wilson to its roster for next season.
Wilson, a five-foot-six outside hitter/libero from Fredericton, N.B., played with the Leo Hayes High School squad, and with the Spartans Volleyball Club which won a provincial silver medal in 2019 and a gold at the Mizuno volleyball festival in Boston, Mass. She’s also played on Volleyball New Brunswick provincial teams.
She said the electronics engineering technology program and the opportunity to play for the Hurricanes led her to commit to Holland College.
“I think my team-first attitude and being dedicated to training and practising is a way I can contribute to the team,” said Wilson.
“Footwork and strength are very important as a player, being able to efficiently and quickly move to where I have to be has allowed my defence to excel. My recent training has increased my strength and improved me as a player by increasing my vertical and hitting power.”
The Hurricanes went 15-6 last season in the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association and finished second in the conference championship.
