Storm lose late to Cape Breton

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Olu Famutimi and Jamal Reynolds each scored nine points in the fourth quarter as the Cape Breton Highlanders defeated the Island Storm 109-102 Saturday at the Eastlink Centre.

Reynolds finished with a team-high 28 points to go with eight rebounds and six assists while Famutimi, who once played for the Storm, added eight assists, six rebounds and three steals to go with his 26 points.

Brian Addison, another former Storm player, had 20 points and 13 rebounds as the National Basketball League of Canada season winds down.

The Storm led 25-17 after the first quarter and 52-49 at the half but the teams went to the fourth tied at 78.

Guillaume Boucard led the Storm with 33 points and 11 rebounds while adding seven assists and three steals in 44 minutes. Tyree White had 19 points, 10 assists and seven boards while Robbie Robinson and Tyler Scott chipped in 13 and 10 points, respectively, off the bench.

The Storm hosts the Saint John Riptide today at 2 p.m. in the final game of the regular season. The Storm has already been eliminated from playoff contention.
