Stealers score come-from-behind fastpitch victory

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Emily Cairns and Maddie Clarke each went 4-for-4 Thursday to lead the Pro Cresting Stealers to an 11-4 victory over the TownShip Tigers in Island Female Fastpitch League action in Charlottetown.
Cairns had two doubles, a triple, a single and scored four times while Clarke had a triple, a double, two singles and scored once.
Haley Savidant had a hit, a walk and scored twice.
Abby Hustler, Ally Hustler, Marley Gaudet and Lauren Lilly were each 1-for-3 for the Tigers. Abby Hustler had a double and scored a run.

The Tigers, an under-19 squad, held a 4-2 lead after four innings after the three Hustlers sisters (Abby, Ally & Eryn) all scored in the third inning to pull ahead.
The Stealers bats finally came alive in the fifth, scoring four runs and adding five more in the sixth inning.
Cloe Leblanc went the distance for the win, allowing one base runner after the third inning. She gave up five hits, walked two and struck out eight.
Eryn Hustler was tagged with the loss in relief. She allowed nine runs on seven hits and three walks in two innings. Starter Ally Hustler gave up two runs on four hits in four innings of work while striking out two.
Both teams are playing in the Lloyd Poirier memorial tournament in Lantz, N.S., where they will participate in the 10-team open tournament along with the Eastern Braves and Cheers, who also play in the Island league.

Marie Brown went 3-for-3 to lead the Braves to a 9-7 victory over Cheers.
Emily Reynolds earned the win for the under-19 squad while Sue Keen took the loss for the masters team.
Tasha MacDonald went 2-for-4 with two doubles for Cheers.
