FREDERICTON, N.B. — Alex O’Brien’s goal in the 62nd minute was the winner Saturday as SoccerStop P.E.I. F.C. defeated the rival Fredericton Red 3-1 in McCain New Brunswick Premier Soccer League action.

The road victory ran the Island squad’s record to 2-1 in the five-team circuit.

Jake Deighan opened the scoring in the 33rd minute and Lucas Ross made it 3-0 in 70th minute. Ben Law broke Brett Strba’s shutout bid in the 84th minute.

P.E.I. F.C. is in action Saturday, June 8, when they hit the road to play Fundy United for the first of two games in two days.
