CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Ellen Murphy scored four tries Saturday to lead the P.E.I. Abbies to a 52-5 victory over the New Brunswick Spruce in Eastern Canadian super league rugby action.

Sidney Corrigan had three tries and Sophie Carragher one. Frances MacWilliam had six converts in the victory at UPEI.

Emily Duffy, who has committed to the UPEI Panthers for this fall, scored the Spruce’s try.

The Abbies held a 31-0 lead at the half.

P.E.I. defeated the Spruce 76-0 on April 20 in New Brunswick.

The super league has provincial teams competing against each other.
