CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Soccer players Sabrina Molnar and Brandon Lund are this the Holland College Hurricanes athletes of the week.
Molnar, a third-year winger from Ottawa, scored twice in Saturday’s 2-0 win over the UNBSJ Seawolves. She had an assist in Sunday’s 2-2 draw with the top-ranked St. Thomas Tommies to close out the regular season.

Molnar has been a leader for the Hurricanes at both ends of the field this season. She’s fifth in the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) with six goals while her 18 points ranks fourth in the conference while also providing steadfast defensive play.
The third-place ‘Canes (8-3-1) face the Mount Saint Vincent Mystics Saturday at 10 a.m. in semifinal action in Halifax.

Lund, a second-year goalkeeper from Montague, backstopped the Hurricanes to two weekend victories.

Lund allowed just one goal Saturday in a 2-1 victory over the Seawolves before shutting out the Tommies on Sunday in a 2-0 win.

Lund has played in all 12 games this season for the Hurricanes as they enter this weekend’s ACAA championship as the No. 1 seed. They face the Mystics Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Halifax in semifinal play.
