ANTIGONISH, N.S. — The UPEI Panthers will not make the Atlantic University Sport men’s basketball championship.
The Panthers, Memorial Sea-Hawks and Acadia Axemen all lost their final game Saturday to finish 6-14 and 16 points, but Memorial held the tie-breaker to get the final playoff spot.
The Panthers lost 95-80 to St. FX Saturday in Antigonish, N.S. The X-Men finished 7-13 and are the fifth seed for the playoffs.
Jack MacAulay had a season-high 27 points, including going 7-for-9 from three-point territory, off the bench. He also had seven rebounds.
Milorad Sedlarevic completed his UPEI career with 15 points while Jamesley Jerome had 14 points.
Daniel Passley had 23 points and 11 rebounds for the X-Men while Tristen Ross and Justin Andrew each score 18 as all five starters had 13 or more points. Azaro Roker and Thomas Legallais had 13 points and 10 rebounds and 13 points and 11 rebounds, respectively.
The X-Men held 17-11, 47-31 and 73-61 quarter leads.
