SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. – A trio of red-hot horses will lock hooves in tonight’s top race at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.

The 11-dash program gets underway at 7 p.m. with Keep Coming favoured in the Race 10 feature for a $2,300 purse.
Marc Campbell gets the catch-driving assignment behind the Brian Andrew-trainee, fresh off a win in 1:54.1 on Gold Cup and Saucer night Sunday at Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park. The five-year-old son of Mystery Chase is owned by Brian Andrew of Milton and William Andrew of Calgary and is searching for his fifth win of the season.

Machinthesand was in the midst of a hot streak when he was defeated Gold Cup and Saucer night by a narrow margin. Ken Murphy picks up the drive tonight for trainer Barry Folland from Post 1 while the red-hot Red Magician leaves from Post 6, fresh off two wins in 1:54.3 during Old Home Week racing for driver Adam Merner.

Race analyst Bo Ford thinks Keep Coming is in the right spot to hit the winner’s circle.

“He (was in) a class on Gold Cup night where he was the one to beat, and he is back at a similar level tonight,” Ford said. “He shows right on his card where he raced the big dance in Summerside and none of his competition have that on their resume.”

Other top-class entries include: Machinthesand (Dale Spence), Old Buck (Jason Hughes) and Instant Shadow (Norris Rogers).

Soccer Hanover makes his East Coast debut in Race 9. The son of Dragon Again has Post 8 in the event with Gary Chappell at the lines for Island owners Leith, Les and Spencer Waite. Soccer Hanover has four lifetime wins, including a 1:57.1 mark over Hippodrome Trois Rivieres in Quebec.
