STRATFORD, P.E.I. — Prince Edward Island won its first game in 10 years at the East T20 cricket championship Friday in Stratford.

P.E.I. defeated New Brunswick by three wickets at Tea Hill Provincial Park. New Brunswick made 163-9 and P.E.I. chased the score in 19 overs 165-7. Action at this year’s five-team tournament continues Saturday with the championship game slated for Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

Schedule:

The P.E.I. Cricket Association is hosting the five-team East T20 event beginning today at the Tea Hill Provincial Park in Stratford. The top two teams after the round robin will play in Sunday’s championship game.
Saturday

8 a.m. – Quebec vs. Newfoundland and Labrador.

11:15 a.m. – P.E.I. vs. Nova Scotia.

2:30 p.m. – Quebec vs. New Brunswick.

5:30 p.m. – Nova Scotia vs. Newfoundland and Labrador.

Sunday

7 a.m. – P.E.I. vs. Quebec.

10 a.m. – New Brunswick vs. Newfoundland and Labrador.

1:30 p.m.– Championship game.
