CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Women’s volleyballer Abby Hyndman and Roosevelt Whyley from men’s basketball are the Holland College Hurricanes athletes of the week.
Hyndman, a first-year right-side, led the way in home victories over Mount Allison and UNBSJ last weekend with 37 kills, 10 aces and 22 digs.
The Charlottetown native is in the graphic design program.
Whyley, in his fourth season with the Hurricanes, helped Holland College earn road wins over the University of King’s College and Mount Saint Vincent by tallying double-doubles in both games. He had 21 points and 14 rebounds against King’s and 19 points and 10 boards versus Mount Saint Vincent.
Whyley also became the new all-time points leader reaching 1,254 career points, passing Chase Bowden (1,244 points).
Whyley, from Nassau, Bahamas, is in the heritage retrofit carpentry.
