CORNWALL, P.E.I. – The Holland College Hurricanes will not win gold but could still earn a medal on home turf at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association men’s soccer championship.
The host Hurricanes, who are the five-time defending Atlantic champs, lost 3-0 to the Montreal-based Indiens d’Ahuntsic on the opening day of the eight-team tournament at the Terry Fox Sports Complex in Cornwall.
Quentin Bourgeais scored twice while Moise Lumpungu had one in the win and Marc-Antoine Chaudry recorded the clean sheet.
In the other quarter-finals, the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) Ooks defeated the St. Thomas Tommies 7-0, Humber Hawks squeaked by the Langara Falcons 2-1 on penalty kicks and the Sheridan Bruins shut out the Capilano Blues 2-0.

Bronze quarter-finals
10 a.m. – St. Thomas vs. Langara.
12:30 p.m. – Holland College vs. Capilano.
Semifinals
3 p.m. – NAIT vs. Humber.
5:30 p.m. – Ahuntsic vs. Sheridan.
The final is slated for Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
