CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The Holland College Hurricanes volleyball teams begin the second half of the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) regular season this weekend with four matches.

The women host the Université de Sainte-Anne Dragons today at 6 p.m. and Sunday at noon at Holland College, while the men travel to Saint John, N.B., for matches versus the UNBSJ Seawolves Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.

The ‘Canes women (7-3) sit tied for second in the standings after a three-game winning streak to close out the first half, while the Dragons (1-9) remain tied for the last place.

Joining the ’Canes is former Acadia outside hitter Jasmine Smith of Falmouth, N.S., who helped Mount Saint Vincent win the ACAA championship last season and was named a Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association all-star.

On the men’s side, Holland College (2-5) is third behind the Seawolves (4-3) and has dropped both matches against the Seawolves this season.

The Hurricanes added middle John Ronalds and outside hitter Simon Archibald for the second half.

Ronalds, in his first season, is from Bathurst, N.B., while Archibald is a second-year player from Aylesford, N.S.
