Corrigan earns national rugby recognition

WOLFVILLE, N.S. – Charlottetown native Alysha Corrigan was named a second team all-Canadian at the recent U Sports rugby awards in Wolfville, N.S.

It’s the fifth-year back’s third second-team nod and second straight season receiving the honour.

Corrigan, who played her final year of eligibility with the Acadia Axewomen this season after four years with the UPEI Panthers, finished second in Atlantic University Sport scoring with 53 points.

Acadia lost in the Atlantic final to St. FX but play in the U Sports women’s rugby championship as the host team.

The Axewomen face the Ottawa Gee Gees tonight at 7 p.m. Play continues Friday at 3:30 p.m.
