TRURO, N.S. — The Charlottetown Rugby Football Club (CRFC) lost in the finals of the Nova Scotia women’s rugby league Saturday in Truro, N.S.

The Valley Rugby Union defeated CRFC 36-17 in the division one title game. The third-year Island club was the two-time defending champ.

Tara Campbell, Alysha Corrigan and Anneke Dykerman each scored a try in the loss while Corrigan had a convert.

Pictou County defeated CRFC’s division two squad 36-10 to capture the crown. Kalie MacKinnon and Kathleen Sullivan each scored a try for CRFC.

CRFC won the title by forfeit in 2018, its first year of existence.
