RIVER GLADE, N.B. — Cole Butcher of Porter’s Lake, N.S., won the Lucas Oil 150 on Saturday evening at Petty International Raceway in River Glade, N.B., to capture the first race of the Parts For Trucks Pro Stock Tour.
Ashton Tucker of Miramichi, N.B., finishing second in his feature debut on the tour. Dylan Blenkhorn of Truro, N.S., had a mishap early in the race but rallied to finish third.
Charlottetown’s Robbie MacEwen was the top Islander, finishing sixth, while Chris Hughes of Brackley Beach was seventh.
The race was slowed by 12 caution periods and took one hour and 40 minutes to complete.
Three Atlantic Tiltload heat races started the racing in front of a capacity crowd. Kent Vincent of Crapaud, Hughes and Tucker all picked up wins in the 10-lap qualifying heats.
Prior to the Lucas Oil 150 three opening classes were run. Dave Matthews of Nine Mile River, N.S., won the Passione Flooring & Interiors East Coast Mini Stock Tour 60-lap feature. Mike Duskey of Albany won the street stock 50-lap event, while Marcel LeBlanc of Bouctouche, N.B., picked up his first ever Sportsman win in the 60-lap A.E. McKay Builders Sportsman race.
The pro stock tour heads to Scotia Speedworld Saturday for the Cummins 150. Grandstands open at 1 p.m. with heat races beginning at 4 p.m.
