BROOKVALE, P.E.I. - The Canadian Ski Patrol – Confederation Zone is hosting its third annual Ski Patrol Support Night, on Tuesday, Jan. 29, from 6-9 p.m. at the Mark Arendz Provincial Ski Park at Brookvale.
All proceeds from the sale of lift tickets, rentals and lessons will be donated to the Canadian Ski Patrol.
Special rates will be available – $10 lift passes, $10 rentals and $23 rentals (all plus tax). The Ski Patrol will also be having a baked potato bar, barbecued hot dogs, hot chocolate, bonfire, s’mores and a loonie auction.
"Ski Patrol is an integral part of our operations at the Mark Arendz Provincial Ski Park at Brookvale and we are very pleased to donate the proceeds of Ski Patrol Night to the organization,” says Shane Arbing, manager of P.E.I. Provincial Parks. “We are very pleased with the strong relationship we have developed with ski patrol over the years and we very much appreciate all the volunteer hours patrollers give at both our alpine and nordic venues."
Funds raised from this event will go towards the purchase of training programs and new equipment such as a scoop stretcher, specialized traction splint, and improved radios – all which will improve the quality of care provided to the public at the ski park.
“This event, and the support shown by government and the public has been extremely valuable to the Canadian Ski Patrol on P.E.I., and we are thrilled with the relationship that we have with the ski park,” says Patrol Leader Gary Ogle. “These funds allow us to have top quality equipment while providing safety and first aid services.”
Lift Passes for Jan. 29 are available at Sporting Intentions, Outer Limit Sports, and the ski park office. Lift tickets are also available the night of the event.
